Irish energy firm Mainstream Renewable Power attended the official opening of the Laboratories of Renewable Energy implemented in both Tomé and Federico Schwager technical Schools in Chile for students studying electricity.
In 2013, Mainstream partnered with the Educational Corporation of the Chamber of Production and Commerce of Concepción (CPCC) that incorporates 5 technical schools. The purpose of the partnership was to assist in the integration of renewable energy into electricity and electronic studies.
Following on from the signing of the agreement in 2013, Mainstream has provided advice and guidance for the project, 'Use of Technologies for Non-conventional Renewable Energy'; which led to the incorporation of renewable energy concepts in all subjects of the 5 technical schools.
As a result of the partnership, Mainstream, the CPCC and the two technical schools; Tomé and Schwager also developed renewable energy laboratories for students to learn first-hand about renewable energy.
Alejandra Alvarez, Corporate Affairs Manager of Mainstream Renewable Power Chile said: "Delivering educational tools based on our energy expertise is an important part of our social commitment to each of the communities with which we interact. This allows us to build long-term relationships and promote initiatives that seek to contribute to economic and social development of each locality, and builds local capacities to continue to develop this new and innovative industry in Chile."
