The work on the sewerage system is expected to be complete by late summer 2016.
A Drainage Area Study of the city's sewerage system was completed by NI Water and a number of key projects identified to improve the sewerage infrastructure, reduce the likelihood of out of sewer flooding and improve the river water quality in the Armagh area.
Construction work is progressing well in the Loughgall Road area and work is about to begin in the Barrack Street/Newry Road area. It is believed work will get underway in the area in late April 2015 and will continue for approximately 4 weeks. NI Water's sewer replacement work will take place in advance of the final road reinstatement.

Lisa Hughes NI Water Project Manager said: "As with all work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption. However NI Water and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering will do everything we can to reduce disruption in the area, and complete work as quickly as possible.
"We will continue to liaise with Transport NI Traffic Branch, the PSNI and emergency services throughout this programme of work. Traffic management, signage and lane closures will also be in place as necessary.

The third stage of the programme of work includes sewer laying in the Alexander Road, Railway Street, Lonsdale Road, Mall West, Barrack Street, Scotch Street and Newry Road. Work will commence in summer 2015 and all major construction work in this area is due to be completed in late 2015.
The fourth and final stage involves sewer laying in Railway Street and the Mall East. Work is due to commence in spring 2016 and is due to completed in the summer of 2016.
