Major Improvement Scheme Announced For Sixmilecross

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £170,000 major improvement and resurfacing scheme on the B46 Tiroony Road, Sixmilecross is scheduled to begin on Monday 6 January 2014.

Resurfacing work on two sections of the B46, between Sixmilecross and Carrickmore is expected to be completed by 17 January 2014.

Mr Kennedy said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on this main route between Sixmilecross and Carrickmore."

Due to the restricted carriageway width, and to help minimise any congestion between site works and other traffic, it will be necessary to close the B46 Sixmilecross/Carrickmore Road to through traffic from 9am till 5pm each working day while improvements are carried out.

Two way diversions will be signposted on the B4 Termon Road, C626 Quarry Road, B4 Drumnakilly Road, B4 Hospital Road, B158 Donaghanie Road, and B46 Cooley Road.
