"Recognising the increased strategic importance of the A32 following the opening of the new Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, the scheme delivers benefits for the local community and all road users who use this vital link corridor between Omagh and Enniskillen.

"The new Shannaragh Bridge along with improved road safety features make journey safer and reduces travel times."

The scheme comprises of 2.2 km of new single carriageway extending from the A32 Clanabogan Road / B4 Drumlish Road Junction to the A32 Clanabogan Road / Shannaragh Road Junction just north of Dromore.

The contract for construction of the new section of road was awarded last year to Whitemountain Quarries Limited and Coffey Construction Limited.
