Essential Works To Begin On Railway Line

Translink has announced that there will be a series of line closures in September to facilitate essential engineering works along the railway line travelling between Ballymoney and Portrush.

The line between Coleraine and Portrush will also be closed for nine days between 15th and 23rd September with a bus substitution service in operation.


The line between Ballymoney and Coleraine will also be closed on Saturday 15th and 22nd and Sunday 16th and 23rd September with a bus substitution in place.

Frank Moore, Translink NI Railways Route Manager said: "More people are choosing the train as their preferred way to travel with a record 10.7million train journeys made last year across the NI Railways network. We have also taken delivery of all 20 new Class 4000 trains that will help to attract even more customers on board rail services.

"This engineering work is essential in order to maintain service levels and ensure passenger comfort and safety on this part of the network."
