Minister Quinn Opens €5m Extension At Finn Valley College

The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., today officially opened the €5 million extension and refurbishment at Finn Valley College, Co. Donegal.

Finn Valley College has 264 second-level students and the new building allows for the future growth of the school, to accommodate 325 students.

The accommodation consists of general classrooms, specialist rooms, a PE hall and ancillary accommodation, with a floor area of 3452sqm.


Speaking at the school, the Minister said: "I'm delighted to be here to open this fantastic new building, which is a great addition to the facilities already available here.

"I know that those living in the area also use the facilities for various activities in the evenings and at weekends, and that they’re delighted with today’s opening.

"I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to all involved who’ve worked so hard to bring this project to completion, the principal, Frank Dooley, the school and VEC staff, parents and the wider community."

During his visit to Donegal, Minister Quinn opened Labour Senator Jimmy Harte’s Constituency Office in Letterkenny.
