Further Progress On Edenderry-Enfield Road Welcomed

Local Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen has welcomed the announcement that the Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar TD has allocated €26m towards the construction phase of the new Edenderry-Enfield road.

Deputy Cowen said: "I am delighted that the Minister has adhered to and honoured the commitment of the previous government to progress this important project for the region.

"I believe the construction of this connection to the M6 will open an important corridor for the midlands which I believe can have significant economic benefits into the future.

"I want to complement the officials and members of both Offaly and Kildare County Councils, particularly those in the Edenderry area, who have worked hard and lobbied for this project to progress through the various phases."
