Engineers Sought In Recruitment Drive

Engineering jobs are in focus today with local company Schrader Electronics, which has facilities in Antrim and Carrickfergus, holding a one-day recruitment drive to find around 40 engineers across a range of disciplines with positions available for undergraduates, graduates and experienced engineers.

The company which already employs around 900 people in Northern Ireland, approximately 200 of which are engineers, is a leading manufacturer of Automotive and Industrial electronics and market leader in the design and manufacturer of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Due to Schrader Electronics' focus on innovation and design coupled with their world-class manufacturing facilities in Antrim and Carrickfergus, the company has continued to go from strength to strength despite the difficult economic climate - so much so the company has an immediate need for local engineers to meet business demands.

Ailsa McNeill Head of HR for Schrader Electronics explained: "We have quadrupled our turnover over the last five years and with the introduction of compulsory TPMS legislation due to come into effect in Europe and possibly in Asia, Schrader is poised for further significant growth for several years to come. In order to realise our full potential, we need to ensure that we continue to have a talented pool of engineers to join our expanding workforce.

"As a progressive company, we work very closely with educational partners to promote engineering as a career choice and have forged strong links over many years with both our local universities. We pride ourselves on being an excellent employer, offering career development and on-going training to our workforce and as an Institute of Leadership and Management accredited centre, we provide high quality in-house personal and leadership development opportunities."

Engineers interested in finding out more about the opportunities available at Schrader should attend the job fair on Thursday 1 December in the Europa Hotel, Belfast from 6pm-9pm and bring their CV.

Positions are available for undergraduates, graduates and experienced engineers in the disciplines of hardware, software, RF, electronics, mechanical and manufacturing.
