Proposals are being discussed to sell-off of the leisure centre on Coleraine's Railway Road to raise funds along with the relocation of Coleraine Football Club to the new premises in Rugby Avenue
Coleraine Borough Council is behind the initiative which would see the building of a sophisticated out-of-town sports stadium and leisure complex.

If successful, the project would be a major boost for local building firms with the first stage already in hand, after the council advertised for consultants to carry out a technical feasibility study.
The council says the 'community stadium' and recreation scheme would have "regional significance" and may include an athletics track, swimming pools, sports halls and fitness gyms.
However, according to a spokesperson, the project is at a very early stage and no firm decisions have yet been taken.
The venture had partly been prompted by the need for improvements at the town's Showgrounds - principle venue for one of the borough's showcase events, the annual youth soccer tournament, the Milk Cup.
An anchor tenant would be sought, likely to be Coleraine Football Club.
