Due to 2005 working at height regulations, all employees who work at height need to show that they have been trained to do so.
As well as having to comply with the law, adequate training is also necessary for insurance cover.
BSD Training runs a PASMA registered course, which issues delegates with a national registered operator card approved by the awarding body.
The PASMA course provides an introduction to Mobile Access Towers, as well as discussing tower assembly; stability; safe use of towers; repositioning towers; tower inspection; care and maintenance; tower dismantle and regulations and standards.

The one day course involves a theory test and a practical build as part of the assessment.

The second working at heights course offered by BSD is accredited by, IPAF (International Powered Access Federation).
On completion candidates are issued with a PAL card, proving they have been trained to work at height safely, and an IPAF operator training certificate.
This course covers Category 1A - Static Vertical and Vertical personnel platforms; Category 1B - Static Boom, Self, propelled booms (outriggers), trailers/push and arounds, vehicle mounted platforms; Category 3A - Mobile Vertical Scissor lifts, vertical personnel platforms (mobile); and Category 3B -Mobile Boom Self- propelled booms.
The duration of this course is one day, covering two categories at a cost of £175 + VAT per delegate.
