South Dublin Development Plan

Public consultation has opened on the draft South Dublin County Development Plan

The county council has prepared a draft plan for the period 2010-2016, which will replace the current Development Plan, which was adopted in 2004.

The development plan seeks to shape the development of the south Dublin area over the next six-year period.

It is the main statement of the council's planning policies and objectives for the area, and will be used to guide decisions on planning applications.


"As part of the process of making the county development plan a public consultation is being carried out," said a council spokesman.

"Written submissions or observations on the Draft Development Plan and accompanying Environmental Report are invited from members of the public and other interested parties."

The public consultation will take place during 22 September to 2 December 2009.

There will be several public information days at public libraries and council offices during this period when staff from the council's planning department will be available to answer questions and to assist in making a submission.
