About Potteries Heavy Haulage
Potteries Heavy Haulage is a family-owned business with over 25 years’ experience moving abnormal and out of gauge loads throughout the UK, Eire and Europe.
Centrally located in Stoke-on-Trent, with good transport links across the UK and into mainland Europe, we are ideally placed to meet our customers’ needs.
Potteries' Fleet of Vehicles
We pride ourselves on the standard of our fleet – Potteries’ head office is home to a workshop run by industry-trained staff dedicated to vehicle maintenance.
Tractors
We operate and maintain a modern fleet of tractor units. Through constant close contact with our preferred manufacturers, we specify unique vehicles that meet the latest emissions regulations and safety criteria and which carry the heaviest of loads throughout Europe, giving the driver a safe working environment and many home comforts whilst away for long periods of time.
All our tractor units are fitted with GPS tracking systems allowing us to monitor progress and remain in contact via messaging services enabling us to provide our clients with up-to-the-minute information.
Details of some of the tractors we operate are as outlined below:
In line with our existing requirements for tractor units, our demand for bespoke trailers is the same, again we work closely with our preferred trailer manufacturers to design and supply equipment that is unique to our company whilst being able to offer the greatest flexibility to our clients and optimise the usage of our fleet. We have vehicle combinations on full air suspension for delicate cargo and light loads leading up to the heavy-duty modular trailers on hydraulic suspension with automatic and manual override steering systems. The hydraulic systems have the ability to allow self-loading / offloading to be undertaken, reducing the necessity for mobile cranes or other unloading systems.
Through the continued expansion we now have a diverse and enviable fleet of trailers that we can utilise throughout the UK and Europe.
In addition to our conventional trailer fleet and as part of our continued expansion we also own heavy duty modular equipment which enables us to carry some of the largest and heaviest of loads within the UK & Europe.
Designed to be assembled into many different configurations and enabling us to have the right trailer for virtually any movement where cargo cannot safely be transported using conventional trailers.
This is all supported in-house with support software which enables detailed trailer configuration drawings along with imposed axle loadings and centre of gravity stability calculations to be produced.
We can also prepare swept path analysis data demonstrating the manoeuvrability and technical aspects of any planned movement.
See below for details of some of the equipment we currently operate:
Our experienced team of industry specialists offers a full range of heavy haulage-related services across the UK, including transport consultancy, route surveys, permit applications, private escorting and storage.
Our extensive fleet of trailers are suitable for the movement of all types of Construction, Plant and oversized equipment used for the construction of roads, bridges, sewage treatment works, steelworks and many other diverse manufacturing industries.
