Fabric First Construction are a specialist construction company that focuses on the thermal performance of the building fabric in order to make the building as energy efficient as possible without any risk to the inhabitants or the building itself.

With over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry Fabric First have the skills and knowledge needed to take any renovation or restoration project from concept to completion. Fabric Firsts’ team has gained many different skills over these 25 years which make them the first choice when renovating, upgrading or insulating your home. Fabric Firsts’ Director spent 12 years as a qualified plasterer not to mention time spent with his dad on sites at weekends and during school holidays honing his skills and techniques long before they were needed in the real world.

This lead to spending several years installing insulation on homes all over England and Ireland before an opportunity came up to work within the insulation industry from a systems designer and supplier perspective.

What We Do?

1. Consultation
FFC are in the unique position to give unbiased advice and serve to direct the insulation installation from concept to completion. FFC will lead you through the process from survey to completion. Including the correct materials specification for the building type (heritage or modern build) supply of the materials and also the installation. We support you through the whole process from liaising with the architect to selecting the correct type and brand of paint.

2. Survey
FFC have developed an industry first survey tool. All that is needed is the dimensions of the walls to be insulated and the materials specification to give you the home owner a comprehensive breakdown of every component needed to complete the job. You will not have to Phone around suppliers or carry out research or chase builders as we have control of the job from start to finish.

3. Supply
FFC work directly with suppliers and system manufacturers to ensure you will have the nose competitive price possible for the materials required. As well as ensuring that the correct materials are supplied meeting our strict tolerances. This relationship ensures that FFC have access to the most advanced and highest performing insulation materials available in today’s market. Always striving for perfection we only supply materials that we would be happy installing in our won home.

4. Installation
Our installation teams are lead by the highest trained insulation technicians the industry has to offer. We are constantly striving for constant improvement of our technicians and continue to train in both the most advanced materials available and also the most advanced installation techniques possible to achieve the highest return in your investment. Our leaders have many years experience within the insulation industry. Working in multi house developments and also on bespoke individual houses.

Thermal Upgrades
Our core business and the main focus of what we do is thermal upgrades. We provide a service which we think is unrivaled in the industry today as we can confidently take almost any thermal upgrade of a building from the initial consultation right through to completion without the need for you the client to waste your precious work or family time trying organised all the different trades needed to complete your project.

Thermal Bridging Solutions
With our experience and in-depth knowledge of insulation and how they affect buildings we have the skills required to identify thermal bridging problems and design solutions to solve them. This may be as simple as using ultra-thin super insulation’s like SpaceLoft on reveals as part of our system design or more intricate work like wrapping steel beams or steel heads within a building fabric to eradicate the problem.

Traditional Plasters & Lime Renders
As our passion lies in the conservation and thermal upgrade on older houses we are often required to “Help a house breath again”. In a lot of instances, we come across old stone and brick houses that have been plastered with modern materials or simply decorated with the wrong product and this requires us to start the process of helping the house breath again. This normally requires us to remove any non-breathable materials from the building fabric and replacing it with materials that perform better with the traditional building techniques used decades or centuries ago.
