We are a specialised team of quality, qualified craftsmen providing specialised welding and fabrication services. We started out as a family business of traditional blacksmiths in Shropshire and are now an international business based in the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains in Mid-Wales. We have developed extensive expertise in small, medium and large scale steel fabrication projects.

Our Services
Powys Steel Fabrications provide high quality welding & fabrication of all aspects of commercial pipe work. Our turnkey service covers every area of industrial and process pipework while our flexible approach enables high quality manufacturing either onsite or at our workshop based in Mid Wales.

The majority of our portfolio is stainless steel, however we are equally skilled working with all grades of Carbon, Stainless, Duplex and more exotic alloys. Our extensive experience in small to large scale projects include:

Bio-Gas
We have been working intensively within the biogas industry over many years, working closely with manufacturers and principle contractors to provide flexible solutions for every client.

Our work, fabricating and installing a wide range of stainless steel pipe work. Includes Gas supply, Heating circuits, Boiler rooms and Manifolds, Chp engine connections, Feed and Slurry lines.

All our pipe work is fabricated and welded to BS 4677, welding to en287-1 and can be supplied in stainless 304 or 316 as required.

Oil and Gas
Our services have been utilised by many oil and gas companies in the UK. These include North Sea oil projects in Northern Scotland & Shetland, together with aviation fuel supply lines throughout the UK, where we undertook the welding and fabrication of high pressure aviation fuel lines.

We understand and deliver the high quality required when working with a wide range of materials including High/Low temp Carbon steels, Stainless steel, Duplex, Super Duplex and Inconel 625.

Food / Dairy Industry
We have worked extensively throughout the UK & Europe within the Food, Dairy and Brewery industries.

We are experienced in hygienic Stainless steel pipe work for a variety of applications, including high spec welding of all thinwall grades of Stainless steel pipe to pharmaceutical standards.

We offer the manufacture of all types of pipe work, including new commissions, modifications to existing plants, small skid units and jacketed pipework.

Workshop & Onsite Services
We offer a wide range of pipe welding services from our workshops in Mid Wales, as well as high quality welding and installation for any industrial requirement onsite.

Our team of highly skilled welders and fitters use Tig, MMA, Mig/Mag processes and offer fully coded welding in a wide range of materials. We also offer fabrication of pipe work to customer drawings, including small skid units and pipe spool fabrications.

Berwyn Steam Fabrications

We manufacture bespoke handmade model boilers in Steel to suit Tractions Engines, Steam Locomotive from 7 1/4 inch scale to larger narrow gauge and full size smaller locomotives,

All of our boilers are manufactured to the highest standards and comply with the latest European pressure regulations

We have our own welding procedures to cover all of our coded welding work and can offer high quality workmanship throughout. All steel boilers are produced to BS 2790-1969 / 1992.

We offer a full certification package, to cover Ce marking where appropriate, together with independent Ndt and Hydraulic pressure testing Inspected by British Engineering Services Ltd.
