MacMahon & Hardiman Consulting Engineers was established in 1990. The practice is based in Limerick City and operates throughout the Mid-West Region.

The practice offers expertise in civil and structural engineering, design for fire safety, energy conservation, mapping, planning issues, legal services and supervision of construction.

MacMahon & Hardiman offer a wide range of services for a multitude of engineering problems ranging from large commercial projects to small domestic projects. 

Civil Engineering
MacMahon & Hardiman have extensive experience in the design, detailing and supervision of all types of foundations, foul and storm sewers including Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), retaining structures, roads, etc.

Structural Engineering
MacMahon & Hardiman offer a structural design, detailing and supervisory service for designs in reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, timber and masonry to Architectural practices, Building Contractors and to individuals.

Fire Safety Certificates
MacMahon & Hardiman have obtained numerous Fire Safety Certificates for developments including apartment blocks, multi-story car parks, nursing homes, offices, shops, pubs and industrial buildings.



Disability Access Certificates (DACs)
MacMahon & Hardiman can handle applications for Disability Access Certificate for all types of buildings in full compliance with Part M of the Building Regulations.

Building Energy Rating Certificates (BER Certs)
We are registered with SEAI as qualified Building Energy Rating Assessors.
We provide a full Building Energy Rating service and energy advice for both new and existing houses. We also advise at design stage for new houses to ensure full compliance with the current Building Regulations and to maximize on energy efficiency prior to construction.

Land Registry/Mapping
MacMahon & Hardiman prepare all types of maps for Land Registry purposes including Land Registry Compliant Maps, Scheme Maps for individual sites, Scheme Maps for housing estates, Scheme Maps for Multi-Storey Buildings, Boundary Rectification Maps etc.

We can also accurately measure and certify lands for sale on behalf of the vendor or purchaser



Planning Permission 
MacMahon & Hardiman can prepare a full set of documents required to submit a valid Planning Application for all types of domestic and commercial applications including Site Location Map, Site Layout, Sewer & Watermain Layouts, Floor Plans, Building Elevations and Sections.

Taking in Charge of Residential & Commercial Developments
MacMahon & Hardiman can prepare as-built drawings of all services to Local Authority standards and liaise with Local Authority Engineers with a view to having estates taken in charge.
