Iron Work, Traditional and Contemporary , Restoration & Sculptures
Specialising in Iron Work both traditional and contemporary, Richard Jones gained a HND in Blacksmithing at Hereford College. After leaving college Richard established his forge at Dyserth in 2002. Richard has since undertaken a wide range of commission work, from designing and producing sculptures for private clients to large projects in the Public domain. From his history of Commissions you can see that Richard has worked with Local Authorities, public bodies and community associations.
Services
Using traditional tools and techniques Richard undertakes a wide range of commissioned work including traditional and contemporary iron work, interior and exterior furniture, restoration, architectural design projects, ornamental water and garden sculptures. In particular, Richard’s love of nature and the water environment are expressed in his contemporary decorative work and sculptures which include plants, animals and fishes.
About Heat and Beat
Richard Anthony Jones is a young artist blacksmith whose studio forge is situated in the beautiful Vale of Clwyd at Dyserth, Denbighshire, North Wales.
After studying metal sculptures at St. David’s College Llandudno he went on to study blacksmithing at Hereford College. During his studies he worked with blacksmiths in Poland and France and returned to North Wales to begin work as a journeyman, developing his skills working with a local restoration blacksmith.
In 2002 he realised his ambition and set up his own ‘Heat and Beat Studio Forge’ at Dyserth where, using traditional tools and techniques he undertakes a wide range of commissioned work including traditional and contemporary iron work, interior and exterior furniture, restoration, architectural design projects, ornamental water and garden sculptures.
In particular, Richard’s love of nature and the water environment are expressed in his contemporary decorative work and sculptures which include plants, animals and fishes.

Top service. We love our new gates. Richard came to visit us at home to discuss exactly what we wanted and we couldnt be more pleased with them. He was able to make the gates to fit the existing stone gateway perfectly and the design is totally in keeping with the property. Highly recommended!
